Luna's One Kitten Litter?

Our cat, Luna, is defying logic and gave birth to only one kitten last night. 24 hours later and nary an addition to her litter.

At this rate, we should probably call this kitten Uno or Una.

The kitten is healthy, strong and large and tiger striped like Mom, but has nobody to cuddle with when Mom takes a sabbatical.

I'm not complaining since I can definitely handle a one kitten litter but I surmise we'll probably get an addition later tonight...

We Got More Kittens!!!

Well, god knows we tried to get Luna spayed....

Unfortunately, a combination of events prevented this, including the Humane Society giving us an appointment 2 months into the future (next time she goes to the vet) and then as she was going to her appointment (which turned out to be too late anyway), Luna kicked Tay's ass when tay tried to get her into the car....


tee....hee....heeee......

So. here we are with five beautiful kittens born early this morning...

2 black, 3 tiger striped....

Churkey's clutch of eggs is due to hatch next week as well, so just like this spring, we will simultaneously have baby chicks and kitties again.

I can't shake the sense of deja vu...

We Have Rats!

Early in the morning sometime before dawn, our cat, Luna, spit out four little rats. She's a tiny cat and she's been bursting for about two weeks.

Wong's Wok promised to take any animals we can't find a home for. Or, there's always the river...

Momma and babies are doing just fine. It never ceases to amaze me how animals figure out how to care for their babies going on just instinct.
